You don’t have to be Christian to take the course.

Work&Learn courses mentor and teach Biblical Principles and Career Skills to enable participants to change careers, find and succeed in jobs they really want and develop servant leadership skills.

The courses are for unemployed and underemployed men and women and for volunteers who would like to mentor or job coach participants.

Classes meet Tuesday nights in New London, CT.

The first hour is devoted to the Biblical values that are critical for both personal and professional (employment) success. We learn from a different pastor each week.

In small groups each participant discusses how these principles apply in his or her life.

The second hour is devoted to Career soft skills, including resume writing, how to job hunt, how to network, informational interviews, practice interviews, personal budgeting, and public speaking. These are skills needed throughout a lifetime. They're taught by experienced management and human resource professionals.

The skills make possible the Career steps each participant can take to choose his or her career path, obtain work as soon as possible, and also additional training and job skills to advance in that career.

Through a partner organization computer skills training is offered free or at nominal charge to participants and graduates.

For specialized needs, Work&Learn refers participants to many excellent local Service Providers.

Work&Learn is run totally by volunteers. To see what some of them do, go here…
